Outdoor Education at St Andrew's Cathedral School has been a key part of the educational development of students since the purchase of an initial 47 hectare site at Penrose in the Southern Highlands in 1984 and a subsequent purchase in 1985 of a further 41 hectares adjacent to the property.
The property was named Kirrikee, the aboriginal name for the bird of prey, the Whistling Kite.
Kirrikee allows students to learn about and interact with the natural environment, develop leadership skills, take responsibility and trust one another as they live and work together as a team.
Kirrikee is our sanctuary.
